The Rule of Law Institute of Australia, in association with the Sydney Law School and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences are hosting an event titled ‘Anti-Terrorism Laws and the Magna Carta.’

Refreshments will be served from 6pm, with a panel discussion running from 6.30pm-7.30pm.

Bret Walker SC, a member of the Magna Carta Committee of the Rule of Law Institute and former National Security Legislation Monitor will be discussing the Magna Carta in relation to anti-terrorism laws.

Alongside Mr Walker will be Dr Emily Crawford, lecturer and Co-Director of the Sydney Centre for International Law, and Professor Colin Wright, Professor of International Relations at the University of Sydney.

Professor Duncan Ivison, Professor of Political Philosophy and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences will moderate the discussion.

The event will be held at Lecture Theatre 101, Level 1, New Law Building (F10), Eastern Avenue, University of Sydney.
